Dear Talleyville Players, Families, & Fans,

Welcome to the 39th year of Talleyville Girls Softball. This should prove to be the most exciting year yet. We are set to finally unveil years of hard work and perseverance…the Grand Opening of our new fields at the former site of the Old Mill Lane School. Finally, a place for Talleyville Girls Softball to call home.

Congratulations to all the Talleyville players, their families, and everyone involved in making this a reality. But this does not mean that we are finished. There is still much work to be done and there will always be something to do to make our new facility better and better. That is where you come in. Volunteer your time and services in the name of Talleyville Girls Softball. This league will not be a success without you and its volunteers. Help to ensure that everyone treats our fields and the surrounding community with respect and care. Help keep our fields clean and green and this will be a partnership that will last for a long time.

Once we have completed our first full season at our new fields, I will be stepping down as your President. I want to thank everyone who has helped me and Talleyville Girls Softball to become the success that it is today. I could not have done it without the help of our awesome Board, the coaches, and the Talleyville families. You will be in good hands. John Pritchard will be taking over as President in 2009. Please give John all the help, patience, and respect that you have given me over the last four years.

Talleyville Girls Softball will have 33 recreational teams and 4 travel teams this year. Once again, we are showing growth from last year. Let’s all make sure our girls learn softball, make new friends, and have fun this season and every season. And don’t forget to volunteer to umpire a game or two for your daughter’s team. We have a “Zero Tolerance Policy” for our volunteer umpires. So make sure you thank them for their time and forgive them if they make a bad call.

As always, don’t forget to thank and patronize all of our great league sponsors. Without them, there would be no league.

Enjoy your new softball facility at Old Mill and I look forward to replacing the sounds of machinery with the sounds of cheers from our girls. Welcome to the 2008 softball season!!!
