To all Junior 1, Junior 2 & First Time Senior Players,

Try-outs for Talleyville Girls Softball are scheduled for this Sunday, March 3rd @ Talley Middle School Gym

Parents - We are going to stick to the same format we have used the past 3 years.  Parents will not be permitted to stay in the gym during the tryouts.  We found this allowed the girls to connect with other players and they were less nervous.  Parents will need to bring their player into the gym entrance (back of school).  At that point you will be required to sign-in your daughter and provide a cell phone number. Your daughter will receive her
try-out number and will be guided to the next area by volunteers.  Please expect them to stay the full time listed below for their age group and division (note we do run behind sometimes). They will field first and then as a group move to the smaller gym to hit.  Once they are done a volunteer will text the number you provided to come and sign your child out.  We will have signs directing you where to pick up...the drop off entrance will be the first gym entrance you see when you walk up from the parking lot.  The pick up will be on the other side of the brick wall from the entrance (signs will be out to direct you)

Each player participating in try-outs is required to bring:

·        Helmet with a cage on the front

·        Fielding glove

·        Bat

·        Dress comfortably

·        Bring personal gear if trying out as a catcher. Must wear facemask and chest protector 

** If for some reason your player doesn't have an item above we will have some extras

All pitchers and catchers will be required to try-out at the end of their particular age group. 

Try-out times are listed below.  Please have your daughter arrive a half hour before her try-out time unless otherwise stated.  Remember, your daughter’s age is her age as of December 31, 2022.

Please arrive 30 mins before your scheduled time!!

JUNIOR 1 Division

8 Year Old: 8:30 am – 9:15 am                  

9 Year Old: 9:15 am – 10:45 am                          

10 & 11Year Old: 10:45 am - 12:15 pm             

JUNIOR 2 Division

10 & 11 Year Old: 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm             

12 & 13 Year Old: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm                          

SENIOR Division (Only players that are new to Senior Division)

Please arrive at 3:00 pm to begin try-outs at 3:15 pm – 4:45 pm

These times are not exact as some age group have more girls than others. This is why we ask that you arrive 1/2 hour before your start time.
